VFW Post 12222 Oro Valley Arizona Stood Up on May 23rd, 2023.

Commander's Corner

Commander Jeri Harwood

Comrades, families and friends,

I want to congratulate our District winners from our Post.

Voice of Democracy winners at Department are:
Charlie Arvizu - 4th Place - Tucson HS

Public Servant Awards:
Manny Guerrero - Oro Valley PD - Went on to State
Jen Rouff - Dispatcher - Oro Valley PD - Went on to State
Fire Fighter Capt. Daniel Cramblit from Golder Ranch Fire District.

We are ending our first month of the new year.  It's crazy how time flies.
The Post will be hosting the commemoration ceremony for the 35th Anniversary of Desert Storm and the Liberation of Kuwait on 28 Feb 2026.  This will be held at the Arizona Hero's Memorial in Oro Valley.  This is going to be a very large event so I am hoping you will be able to come out and support.  I will have a Gold Star family from Phoenix here, the Mayor is doing a proclamation, we will have a color guard and a gentleman singing "God Bless the USA".  We will have three guest speakers, Golder Ranch Fire, OV PD, Town Council, American Legion Post 132 and a host of other guests.  If you are a Desert Storm Veteran, please send me your photo, where you were at during the war, branch of service and what your job was.  We are going to put this in a program for everyone.

Elections are coming up and I would truly like to have some more individuals help us out.

That is all for right now but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you again.
Commander Jeri
